Statement

My subject matter is life and emotion, whether it’s my own or someone else’s. I find inspiration, beauty, and comfort in the intimacy and small moments of the human condition, and convey this by creating relatable pieces with depth, complex pattern, and imagery. I believe these small interactions, and perceiving our emotions in a visual way give us the ability to help one another feel less alone in this crazy world, and understand where our emotions come from. Through my work I open lines of communication and conversation surrounding our mental health, we aren’t that different from one another. I often use graphite pencil, ink pens, collage, and photography in order to conceptualize my ideas and further this conversation of our internal dialogue.
